Apologies - I'm sure this must have been asked a hundred times before,
but I can't quickly see an answer:
I have a SoHo LAN that's primarily cabled but with one 802.11b access
point currently attached to it. (Actually a Linksys WAP11 v2.2 that's
used to collect data from a serial device attached to a WET11 bridge).
I now want to extend the wireless coverage, but this will be at the
far end of a rather rambling single storey building from the existing
AP and the building has several intervening thick concrete block
internal walls. To get good reception in the new distant area I
suspect I'll need a second access point which I was planning to cable
to the main part of the LAN - probably a WAP54G.
So, two questions:
1. Are any problems likely to the configuration I'm planning?
2. Assuming the answer is no, then do I need to be careful to
configure the two separate access points in some unique way or should
it be just a matter of plugging in the second AP and using a similar
simple configuration to the first AP?
Many thanks if anyone can help
