As I am on an 'Up to 8 Meg' package, how can my line be synching at a
higher speed than that? Is my router measuring it wrong? Am I
misinterpreting the numbers?
Here are the line stats:
Attainable line rate : 9848 kbit/sec
Attainable Atm rate : 8768 kbit/sec
Used line rate : 8600 kbit/sec
Fast used Atm rate : 0 kbit/sec
Interleaved used Atm rate : 7616 kbits/sec
Rel. capacity occupation : 87
Noise Margin : 9 dB
Line attenuation : 22 dB
Output Power : 19 dBm

It's not, it's showing adding all the network over heads as well as
possible speeds.
Do you live in the exchange though?
