- Need 'normal' router, messenger must have
- Posted by TX2 on October 15th, 2003
I need a 'normal' ADSL modem/router to simply split an ADSL connection
between 3 PC's. I don't want feature rich la di da.
The only proviso is that it must support MSN Messenger use.
I need a router because the machine the USB connection currently goes
thru via ICS, is regularly rebooted and this of course means other users
have to wait for it to come back online before they can again access the
internet.
Have checked ADSL guide and liked the look of the Draytek 2600, but the
price is scary for a simple 'split' like i want.
The Solwise 715 is OK, but out of stock until November.
Recommendations?

Ditto here with two 2600 (office/home) - never had any issues with either.

I've just bought a Draytek 2500, and I'm very impressed. It's got most of
the features of the 2600, but it's a good bit cheaper. It supports uPnP, so
is fully compatible with MSN.
