Not heard of searching before asking ?
Some people have no problems with these, others like myself have so many
problems theyre just about unusable. A trip to google groups will answer
your every question.

You believe everything you read in the Internet? Oh foolish youth.
Much better to ask for help in a place where you know there is some
expertise and where people face the same challenges.
Oh, I get it, you were pulling the questioner's leg. Why else answer
them with genuine advice?
For which I am grateful, being in the same floating vessel.

Works like a dream here - no problems at all - recommend quality adsl
filters (available from www.adslnation.co.uk) though as opposed to the ones
supplied with the kit

Any idea which ones they're supplying, please ? Peter M.

I think it only comes with 1 filter anyway (i havent used it as ive got an
ADSL master socket instead) but a few people say the supplied filter quality
isnt great. The master socket though id neater - less things dangling off
the other sockets in the house.

How are problems with the DG814 model relevant to the OP question?
- Posted by aj on October 27th, 2003
The filter I was supplied with the DG824 is by Excelsus with that and
another from my alacatel modem I was getting the odd dropout of the ADSL and
noise on my telephone line - I got "quality" ones from adsl nation and the
line has not dropped once in 6 weeks and the line noise disappeared as soon
as I fitted them.

can sometimes get into the admin area to reconnect, other times have to go
downstairs and pull the power out.
Havent tried changing the firmware yet.
I wouldn't recommend the 824 on my experience.

Worth a try - fixed a link drop-out problem for one of my customers.

I can now reliably crash the router by loading eMule, WinMX and leaving it
for 6 hours.

I wouldn't recommend any Netgear, period. (it's a long story)
If you want no hassle get Draytek Vigor 2600We, bit more expensive but worth
it.
