NEVER USE v21!! (Email I sent to v21 titled: WHERE IS MY FUCKING MAC CODE?????)
Posted by collection60@googlemail.com on October 16th, 2006

Dear v21/biscit,

I ordered a MAC code on the 27th of Sept.

20 days later, and NO MAC CODE???

You charged me the money immediately, but did not give me the code
immediately, did you? You promised it within 5 days, but it's 20 days
later now. You didn't give it because you are more interested in taking
the money than upholding your contractual agreement.

I am requesting my MAC code. I have bought it from you for 30£ despite
that it costs you nothing. Now give me what I BOUGHT! Give me what is
rightfully mine and stop lying and giving excuses. The more you lie the
more likely you are to fire up enough anger in me to motivate me to
write an official complaint against your company.

For your information here is a history of events:

I've emailed and phoned you on the 6th of October, only to receive the
excuse that BT isn't providing the MAC codes. I asked you what other
options I have, you only told me to wait and didn't inform me of the
cease line option, I had to go elsewhere to discover the cease line
possibility.

In the meantime, v21 gets taken over by biscit.

I called "biscit" on the 11th of Oct but they claimed to not have v21's
accounts. For an internet company how can they not have the accounts?
Aren't they supposed to be masters of IT? They tell me to email them
and they promise to call back. I did send an email to
provisioning@biscit.net but I received no reply or no call back from
biscit, as they promised.

I call biscit's support line again on the 12th of Oct. I'm told to call
v21's 50p/min tech support number, but they don't tell me it costs
50p/min. I call this 50p/min number, it takes the (Indian sounding)
tech guy 2 minutes to tell me that he can't answer my MAC question and
I must call another free phone number from v21. So that's 1£ wasted
already by bad redirection by v21.

So I call v21's old customer support number. I'm told by a recorded
message that their cancellation phone line is down, and I must give
then 28 days *written* notice! Unbelievable! You can take my money with
an online form in 10 seconds, but revert to stone age when it comes to
providing the code? Why not just give the code in the next 10 seconds,
it should be as easy to get the code as to buy it.

To get the MAC I've had to wait for weeks, jump through hoops, call
multiple tech support lines and emails, and give 1 months written
notice, MAYBE. Something tells me that you care more about the money
than the service?

Today (16th oct), I just called v21 support line, and.... guess what?
You don't have one anymore! Everyday v21 support gets worse. Instead I
get a recorded message telling me to call another number (08714333096),
which when I called turned out to be not even a v21 number. So you've
redirected me to some random company. The call went like this:

*Ring ring*
Lady: Hello?
Me: Errr, is this v21 customer support? (surely I shouldn't have to ask
that?)
Lady: Who?

At this rate I am going to file an official complaint against your
company. The only thing that's stopped me so far is that it takes up my
valuable time.

Apologies for the subject line but I am more than capable of being
fully factual and composed when writing complaints, cutting out every
last bit of attitude to give a fully forceful weight of evidence.

I just wanted your attention with the subject line and to get my
goddamn MAC code, NOW.

Personally, I would complain to OFCOM about lack of MAC being supplied.

They cannot duck their resposnibility by blaming their supplier, that is
their problem, not yours.

I have been with Biscit for 4 years now, they have been absolutely
outstanding, you could not want for a better service! hence why I am still
with them and will remain to do so.

I am sorry you have had a problem with V21, I am sure now they have been
bought out by Biscit you will also have an outstanding service in the
future but as with anything there will be a few that slip through the net
during the transition phase.

In the 4 years I have been with Biscit I have only encountered 3 minor
problems that were rectified within the hour and I received follow up
calls to ensure I was happy.

Stick with it mate the service will improve dramatically I'm sure.
