I am only on PAyg, I don't use the mobile enough to bother with a
contract. Since most people I know are on different networks,if I want
to contact them on theirmobile, it is cheaper for me to use my land
line. I only know 3 people that is on O2 and one of them is not using
them at the moment as he is running his vodafone credit down, before he
changes over.

Yes , seems poor for a high tech cutting edge product !
Site designed using frontpage which is always a sign that
its been done ina back room rather than laid out cash for
a website .

likely find this guys a affilaite / reseller as hes charging £19.99
fo the handset and £10 a month so its not such a free lunch
after all

Frontpage's reputation is undeserved IMHO. I use it and my site doesn't
look like that..! Its main problem is that it generates a large amount of
redundant code, but with a little tinkering it can be reduced
considerably.

Hi

I did not know it was a race:-)

The last four months have been testing. One month Alpha testing, and three
months Beta testing.

We did not want to go to market without confidence in out product.

Hi

The market we are looking at is the home and SOHO user. Many of these will
not have a hub, a number of Broadband suppliers only provide a USB modem.

We only intend to provide USB phones initially.

Hi

We are trying to de-mystify the VoIP market. The design basis for the site
is: if my wife doesn't understand it, it doesn't get in.

You misread me. I was commenting to Kali "what's wrong with the
incorporation date?", ie, why "hmmmmm"? Incorporated in Feb, launching in
September -- I can't see why the "hmmmm".

btw, your contact email page wasn't working yesterday.

Andrew

I don't think you will do very well in the home market, even bigger VOIP
companies are not getting the custom they want in that market.

The main problem is that a majority of people have to pay for phone line
rental and by the time you add on your monthly cost, and this is the
same with Vonage, you are forking out nearly £20 a month.
My land line supplier gives me a great deal, If I want to talk to people
in other countries, I either use MSN, because it is Free or Skype.

My opinion of NTL's pisspoor offering dropped somewhat - despite my
surprise that it could drop further - when I was at a friend's and
tried to visit my own website. Instead of the vaguely technical
information I was expecting, I saw a porn site instead.

What sort of retard can misconfigure a web cache that badly,
especially one that is not optional? It wasn't even anything that
floated my boat...

but was that your friends fault? the way you put your last message as if
it is the people that use cable that is the problem.

In my experience of fixing computers, the most likely cause of that is
spyware / adware on the computer rather than NTL's cache. Yet another
reason to switch away from Windows.

The fact that I have no choice about the proxy server is extremely
frustrating but most large ISPs are doing this now and I can understand
why they do it. In 2002 the Colchester proxy often crashed and didn't
redirect me to an alternative one, so I got used to setting my browser
to alternative proxy servers actually run by competent people. NTL seem
to have improved reliablity in the last year although that may be
because I live in a different part of Colchester now.
