- New BT Line - How long to wait for ADSL?
- Posted by Mike Gayler on October 12th, 2004
I have transfered my voice line successfully from NTL.
I am intending to sign up with Metronet as soon as I am able. Unfortunately
the ADSL checker continually comes up that my number is unrecognised.
What is the normal time before the ADSL checkers will allow me to place an
order?
Is there anything I could do to speed matters along?
Thanks in advance

A new line normally appears after about 24/48 hours.
However, numbers transferred from other operators can take longer
Call Metronet, explain the situation and ask if they are willing to place a
"manual order". These ignore the automated checker and allow the ISP to add
notes for BT Wholesale to read (i.e. customer number recently transferred to
BT from NTL and not yet on checker etc)
