impressed that they installed on a pre-existing BT line in 5 working
days and delivered their router on next day delivery.

After Metronet were taken over by Plusnet, Newnet are now the ISP I
recommend to friends and family if they have 'moderate' usage.

No complaints so far, which is *so* different to others I support who
use AOL, Talktalk, etc.

I'm sure NewNet will not be disappointed.

Note that Home Lite is not touched - NewNet was never for those who
might 'overuse' the system. You certainly pay for what you get with
them. Very right and fair, IMNSHO.

They are still my recommended ISP of choice for those who have modest
Internet ambitions.

I guess that since Zen charges a similar fee for 60 GB a month, there were
too many users on Newnet who were passing a lot of traffic. If his usage
is at that level every month (and cannot be lowered) then it's a simple
choice, either pay the higher fee, or switch ISP. Seems that few who
post think that they can reduce the amount of data they transfer so
will switch ISP to one where off-peak isn't counted, or the charge
structure is simply lower overall. It's getting to the stage where
people are having to understand few ISPs can allow one to have their
cake and eat it - they must charge in proportion to the level of use,
and more important, charge realistic fees... Still puzzled as to how
EntaNet users can be allowed 300 GB a month off-peak for 20 quid (!!)

<g> - though a sudden increase of 59% was a shock.

Incidentally he's received three identical emails so far to the same
address informing him of the price increase - maybe that's what they're
spending the money on.
Having thought some more and looked at the house usage graphs on the
NewNet site the GBP3.25/month/each increase is tiny compared with their
over-allowance charges most months(!). I do believe they may start to
use their Net connection mostly for work now and by doing so could
possibly even reduce their package to the GBP21.95/month level - yeah
right, like that's going to happen!!!

Why "N"? - puzzled...
