- Nokia 6300

I have just bought a new phone the Nokia 6300 and on opening the box I see
that the CD only works on a PC with XP. Does anyone using a Mac have this
phone, am I missing out on any important stuff. I bought this phone as
according to all the reviews you can access your emails with attachments
which I couldn't do with my previous phone I could just see the emails but
not the attachments! I do hope I've not made a big mistake here.

A mistake having a Mac you mean ? They are very poorly supported outside their
home market of the USA. Apple have only themselves to blame for this by charging
effectively double the price (or more !) for export sales and providing
miserable (and horribly expensive) after sales service.
The Nokia site mentions only **PC** software.

So basically it seems you're out of luck.
What is it you do with your computer that made you buy a Mac ?

lynn.williamson@FOREVERREDbtinternet.com declared for all the world to
hear...
Majority of Nokia phones have native support for iSync.
http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/devices.html is where you
need to go to check, but that list seems to be woefully out of date. As
long as your Mac has bluetooth you should be alright for synchronisation
and file transfer.

It's only Windows that makes PCs crash ! I can hardly ever recall crashes happening
under DOS. But then again, Nokia only supplies Windows software. Bummer.
So there's nothing you're doing with your Mac you couldn't do on a PC then ?

opinion. The whole set up and using of programmes is so much easier but
like you say that is comparing it to Windows which lets be honest if we buy
PC that's what you get!! You actually need to use one to appreciate the
difference. Ideal for anyone well into multimedia rather than office
applications even though you can get Office for the Mac
