- NTL Broadband recent issues
- Posted by AMO on September 27th, 2004
As I understand from my ex, NTL are experiencing problems with new
connections to their broadband service.
Can anyone shed any more light on this?
Thanx.

mine died for 4 days, altho that was due to line noise, a few extra db got
it back working again, i've heard they have had a lot of issues with sp2
tho.

If someone messed up an sp2 installation, somehow, then that'd have a direct
effect on NTL cable-modem service, otherwise it can't. Even with a firewall
fully on (as opposed to 'partially' on, with sp2) there should be no problem
at all.

My daughter (student) has signed up in Nottingham but they can't install due
to 'database problems'. They have no idea when this will be fixed - not
even an estimate of whether it will be days/weeks. It apparently only
affects certain street addresses. She's got friends who've recently had NTL
installed but has either never worked, or has stopped working.
I couldn't get a straight answer from NTL as to whether this is a commercial
problem (ie billing etc) or a technical issue (ie routing etc).
