Open ports on O2 Broadband box?
Posted by Cork Soaker on June 26th, 2008

Does anyone have an O2 router (the one that comes free with O2 Broadband)?

It's a rebranded Speedtouch, and it doesn't look like the stupid bloody
thing has an option to open up ports! I think it's ready for the bin
unless I've missed something?

TIA

Hi,

Just got one of these last week, migrated from BT to o2 (mainly due to
price).

From the main router config home page,

Click on Home Network
Click on the device/pc/laptop/game console etc, that you want to
open/forward the required ports to.
Click on Assign a game or Application to a local network device.

From here you can choose from a list of predefined applications, e.g
bittorrent, Xbox Live, etc.

If your ports/application is not in the list you can create a custom one and
specify the ports yourself.

Hope that helps.

Scott.
