Anyone shed some light on a problems for a mate? I know SFA about this...no
BB here yet :-(

2 PC's network cards appear working ok

PC A has win XP and is used to connect to broadband and woks fine.

PC B is win 98 and is trying to network with PC A. It can share folder and
transfer files OK but cant coonect to broadband.....

A bit vague I know but anyone any thoughts?

If a settings issue, what should the right settings be????

Many thanks

Hi Decal

Have you enabled Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on the BB connection on
the XP machine?
This needs to be enabled so the XP machine can 'share' the BB link with the
98 PC.

Once you have done this it should work.

Cheers

Sounds like your mate has modem in the XP machine, right ? Rather than
a router solution ????

If so ...

The PC actiing as a host to the internet, must know that it has to
'share' its internet connection.

Check the Properties -> Advanced (tab) of the DUN connection. From
there you will be able to enable (???) the connection to other hosts
on the network.

A bit simplistic of a response, bu probably the best site to goto for
this iformation is www.practicallynetworked.com.

Not sure if it might be quicker googling for it - it`s a question that
crops up almost weekly and should probably be in the FAQ :-}

Never bothered to read the answer to the problem though i`m afraid, as I
have zero intention of using eXcrementPile :-/
