Outgoing Outlook problem with Sky
Posted by diy-newby on October 19th, 2007

Hi

Seem to have to be having a problem sending emails through Microsoft
Outlook. ISP is Sky. Problem has only just started happening.
When I send an email I get an immediate undeliverable response with the
error "550 Relay not permitted"

Anyone any ideas?

TIA

Whats your outgoing server set to? DO you have authentication ticked or
unticked?

Is he even trying to use SKY or another server for his email?

You're trying to send from your previous non-Sky ISP at a guess, my
missus has managed to do the same.

Try checking which email address is selected in the "from" field of a
couple of new blank "test" emails - there's a good chance you'll see
what I mean :-)

No, I use a third party email provider for portability.
