Outlook Mail & Netgear DG824M With BT Openworld ADSL

I've just bought the DG824M and Im having problems receiving/sending
using the router. All I get is

Task 'pop.compuserve.com - Sending and Receiving' reported error
(0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this
problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP).'
Task 'mail.btinternet.com - Sending and Receiving' reported error
(0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this
problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP).'

I've tried all sorts of port settings etc, but nothing seems to work -
has anyone had any similar probs or any ideas?
