One day BT will upgrade our exchange to Broadband, they've been promising since July 27th but every time we get within 2 weeks of the date it shifts another month. Possibly we'll get it this month....

I think broadband is on the brink of getting faster and cheaper! This Year Blueyonder are rolling out speeds of 10MB For only £35.00 And i have also heard that Wanadoo Are running trials of a 8MPBS...

Update - I called UKonline just after I sent the below message to the NGis, and they told me I am only 500 metres from my exchange, and while some customers can get 4 to 6 meg, my house is capable...

Called BT to ask the maximum broadband my line can take....UP TO 1 MEG only - they said they don't yet have the technology to make it run faster - something about the length of the wire from my house...

hmm, but I just tried this link - http://www.bt.com/broadband/bb_availability_result.jsp Which tells me my number can carry up to 2 megs. Weird ========
