- Pipex Broadband
- Posted by Ken on October 29th, 2003
I am at the moment a NTL dialup 24/7 customer and would like to upgrade to
Broadband. I think on the face of it that Pipex seems a good offer. Has
anyone any constructive comments on their service, good or bad please?

I've been using it for about 6 weeks, after the best part of 5 angst-ridden
years with Freeserve in one guise or another, and I've no complaints - so
far. Setting up email aliases, etc online is quite easy as well. Never
called
their support line (do they even have one?), but then again, I never phoned
Freeserve's either - tend to sort things out myself.

ADSL suppliers with users giving opinions/support to one another - very
useful.
I looked recently for a relative and narrowed down to Pipex / EasyNet based
on pricing and these forums

I'm with Pipex, been great - no known outages in last 10 months or so, it
does however have some niggles,
their news server is very slow, but to get round the problem I've signed up
with one of the free news servers run by a German university.
'live' streams break up (says net congestion), BBCi Broadband is the one
that springs to mind, not sure if this is down to pipex or the BBC ?
