Hi All

I'm after an ADSL provider recommendation.

I source my e-mail, news-groups, web-hosting etc elsewhere so all I'm after
is a good solid connection with little or no restrictions on torrents, I
quite often have to exchange DVD9 images with colleagues in South East Asia
(not the best way of doing this I know, but I didn't set the system up)

I'll be accessing the connection with windows and Linux boxes.

I've looked at many review sites on the net but they always make a big deal
about mail and hosting which is of no interest to me. The same is true of
support, I would rather have a good working connection than great support
based in the UK, because if I have the first I don't need the latter.

I'm moving to Exeter next month if anybody has any specific knowledge of
ADSL there.

everyone has their own ideas who to recommend, (check previous posts) the
only problem i have is that i like my isp, and i'm not sure i'd like to
share my connection (contention) with someone using the bandwidth that you
are likely to use, as it could adversly affect the service i receive.

news server is unreliable.

Try a comparison on Thinkbroadband.com or one of the other adsl
comparison sites.

Just hope your don't live near me and cause contention issues

TalkTalk I didn't like at all, but the it was at the time
when Watchdog was having a go at them.

sorry if i misunderstood, i thought essential touch was hoping to use
torrent 24/7 firing dvd9 disk images around the world, this is, apparently,
not the case. as many users know torrent is both a blessing and a curse,
high availability of the data is great, the bandwidth used by several
million 14 year olds downloading the latest films (often in poor quality)
sucks up the bandwidth available to the rest of us.
