Quality Belkin High Speed Internet Cable Dead? Pls advise...
Posted by tHatDudeUK on March 5th, 2004

Just bought a 9m RJ11 to RJ45 cable as described to replace a cheap 15m
argos extension. I have plugged it in only to find it's dead. I wiggled the
RJ11 connector through a hole I had made so I could route it where I wanted.
I'm guessing this damaged the connection at that end?!

I am considering cutting the RJ11 connector off, and wiring it in to the
connector box from the cheap argos extension kit. Will the colours and
wiring etc be the same?

Many thanks in advance,

Kind regards

you sure this isn't a modem cable, with BT connector rather than
RJ? Modem cables have a cross-over - you may need a straight
cable, depending on application. For example, an ADSL modem to
filter cable would be straight-wired RJs.
