quick microfilter question
Posted by jamie on July 29th, 2004

just preparing for when i get my line activated but need to know how many
splitters i need, so where i have a double adaptor do i need to plug the
doubler into the microfilter and then the sky/phone into the doubler without
splitters there or do i need to plug splitters into both sockets of the
doubler for the phone/sky?

thanks

Every device needs to go through a filter.

Having 1 filter and then a splitter with 2 devices in or
a splitter and then 2 filters is your choice.

i realise that every device needs to be filtered somehow but i'm not quite
clear how, with the one microfilter filter two devices on a doubler?

----phone
----microfilter----doubler
----sky

will that work or will i need to use two more splitters like below;

----microfilter----phone
----microfilter----doubler
----microfilter----sky

thanks

No, you don't need 2 filters in series, which this gives. If you like, you
can do away with the filter on the left and plug the doubler into the
socket - and then 2 filters into the doubler - but uses one more filter than
above, and doesn't actually gain anything
