- Sending SMTP Messages through the BT Voyager 2000 Router Modem
- Posted by andrewYG on January 7th, 2004
Whenever I try to send a SMTP message through the BT Voyager 2000 I
receive the following message:
Delivery has failed on the enclosed message for the following
reasons reported either by the mail delivery system on the mail
relay host or by the local TCP/IP transport module:
550 5.7.1 <andrewtinsleyyg.netscape.net>... Relaying denied
If I send the message through a dial up modem or a USB ADSL Modem ,
the message is sent without fault.
It looks like it is related to a setting, but which one? Can someone
help?
Regards

Hi
Some ISPs wont acept messages from private smtp servers or releyed messages.
AOL is one. I would check the ports on the router to se if smtp is open in
and out.

Set the smtp server in your email software to that of your BB isp. It
looks like you are trying to send via your 'dial-up' isp's smtp server.

Andrew, you are trying to send mail via your Netscape.net account via
powernet.co.uk service. you will have to change your email accounts to
reflect that you are on powernet.co.uk. Does Netscape.net have a webmail
service, if so you may still be able to use your Netscape via that service.
