STM on Virgin ADSL?

One of their techs told me that they lost over 14,000 customers in the
last quarter.
Is that realistic ? I dunno ?

Jim.

"Broadband customers increase by 51,000 to reach 3.5m - still the UK's
largest residential broadband provider."

I must say that was an interesting read.

Not sure what to make of it though.

Can't see them being top dog for much longer, unless others are sucked
in my the hype.

Soon as folks realise that it's been sold by old beardy to someone
else and it gets rebranded then it'll be game over.

When they say increased ie new signups, what about the enlightened
folks who have up sticks and left ?

Yes they may have attracted that many new customers, but would they
tell you that they also lost 40 odd thousand at the same time ?

I think not..it's their report..

I tried and dumped their broadband but I'm still a customer for phone and TV so
I for one won't figure in those numbers.

Page 4:
"The on-net customer base was 4.7 million at June 30, 2007, down 70,300 on
the previous quarter. The revenue decline primarily reflected the net
customer loss and a decrease in ARPU. Customer losses included an estimated
40,000 due to the impact of Sky's removal of its basic channels from our
platform on March 1, 2007. Losses were also affected by the loss of fixed
line telephony subscribers."

So yes, they've really buried that figure, haven't they? :-/
