I bought this puter used and it came without a manual. I need to get at the
mother board to upgrade the memory. Can someone tell me the procedure for
this.

Ken,

You don't really need to open up the system to add RAM; the slots are
accessible from the bottom of the unit.

That being said, everything you need to know to take it apart is available
in IBM's Hardware Maintenance Manual -

WRONG WRONG WRONG
Just open the keyboard and remove the hard drive by lifting up on the
lever (the hard drive is on the right).
The DIMM carrier is under the black cloth like cover under the hard
drive.
