Acer laptop -song pauses while running

Hi,
I have Acer AMD Turion 64 bit dual core laptop.(512 MB RAM)
I face a unique problem for which I want to know the root cause of the
problem.

Some times while running winamp the song pauses for some seconds and
then only continue.
I dont run any other programs which are memory intensive or for that
matter
I dont run any other applications at all.


Is there any problem with the processor.( i m able to see some spikes
in the task manager
performance?

First 512 mb ram is not enough today. Go to the very least 1m. Also check
the task manager for programs running in the background. Run some spyware
programs to clean up spyware in background. Whether you have programs
running or not there is always a load of crap in the background.

My ACER with 512 mb, Turion 64, with 64 mb RAM, Windows XP Pro has been good
playing music, viewing DVD and doing the Internet surfing and Powerpoint
presentations it is suppossed to do.

512 mb is good enuf for office work and playing all of todays multimedia
while typing, surfing, or responding to emails.

I found the reason.
I was running AVG antivirus which slows down winamp process during its
schedule and hence the song pauses.
