- Acer Travelmate 525TE Battery Won't Charge

The battery on my Acer Travelmate won't charge. It just keeps showing "0%
charging" and won't run my LT.
The LT does run on AC, with or without the battery in place.
Is it a certainty that the battery has failed, or is it possible that something
is the power supply circuitry has failed? TIA for any help.
