I am looking at this ASUS L35H P4-2.4G laptop. The price is very attractive.
The thing is it uses the desktop version of P4-2.4G in it. Does anybody have
any experiences or comments with this laptop?.

To my surprise, it is not too hot (after half an hour), the fan is not noisy
and it is not heavy (~ 7-8 lbs).

Asus produces quality laptops not only under its own brand, but also
for other companies. I had some experience with the 3800C and it was
ok. You shouldn't go wrong with Asus.

Desktop cpu-s do get hotter than mobile processors. P4-M gets hot and
P4 gets even hotter. Be careful with overheating issues! Desktop cpu-s
also need more space- thicker design, heavier, etc. Get P4-M- prices
should drop due to the introduction of the Pentium M.
