ATI Mobility Radeon 7500

Can someone please help me? I have a Compaq EVO N610c with the
Mobility Radeon 7500. I a 21 in monitor hooked-up with the docking
station and I would like to use the Multi-Monitor function. I would
like to open the Campaq up and use it as the second screen. But, I
can't seem to get it to work. I have downloaded the latest driver
from the Compaq site as well as the Hydravision from the ATI site, but
I can not extend my desktop. Is there a setting that I have missed
with this computer?

If the second monitor is detected it should appear in the Settings tab
of Display properties. If it is not appearing there are a few things you
can check. Check for a Compaq or ATI group in your Programs menu and
look for multi-monitor settings. Some chipsets allow the multiple
monitors to be one large desktop, each showing one half. With this
enabled the Settings tab will show one display. Also check the taskbar
for a Compaq or ATI icon with similar settings. Failing this, click on
[Advanced] in the Settings tab and look for ATI or Compaq tabs that may
have multi-monitor features.

Are you running Windows XP or Windows 98 ? If you are running Windows 2000
this will not work.

Glad to help, it took me a fair bit of reading to realise why it was not
working.
