- Averatec C3500 parts
- Posted by Reactor on February 4th, 2007
Hi all,
Other than on eBay, does anyone know where I can get a complete replacement
case/housing for my Averetec C3500? It was knocked to the floor at a trade
show and the case suffered damage all the way around. Everything else still
works though, and I like the machine, so I'd like to fix it..
Thanks.

Averatec hardly exists, even as a pure merchandising company, so getting
parts from them is impossible. eBay is likely your only viable
source. You might look for a non-working unit for $100 or so on eBay.

Despite my signature below, (the machine is my wife's), I too own an
Averatec (3300) - were you aware that there is an Unofficial Aveatec
Forums website, because of Averatecs poor response to customers
http://www.averatecforums.com/
There is a section devoted to the C3500...
Most Averatec users talk to this company... Freemontek for parts and
out of warranty repairs.
Here's a direct steal from a response in the C3500 forum..
"Fremontek can assist you in diagnostics / repairs / replacements
for the C3500
If you plan on exploring hardware related resolutions, Fremontek would
be more suited for you then any local or otherwise services. Here, we
carry the actual OEM parts and we specialize in Averatec so our
technicians has serviced hundreds (if not thousands) of C3500.
But definitely exercise your options by checking out if there are tips
and fixes suggested from fellow C3500 forum members.

Thanks Brian,
I was aware of the Averatec forum and have been watching it. Thanks for the
tip on Fremontek - they say they can sell me the parts I need - basically
the entire case - for $216.00.
A complete used laptop of the correct model just went for 203 on ebay . . .
.. . .
