Hello,

I'm the owner of a compaq presario 1246 laptop.

One week ago, I experienced a strange problem: I powered on the laptop
and while it was booting, it suddenly powered off. There was no way to
power on anymore, until 6 hours later when it could be started again.

I've heard it could be a problem with the CMOS battery, so I changed
it by buying a new CR1220 on sunday. It worked till today (wednesday)
and the computer will not power on tonight again.

Unfortunately, the laptop is no more covered by the warranty, so I
don't even think about bringing the laptop back to a service centre.

Anyone has help ?
