hi
i'm seriously considering buying a Compaq Presario 2100 series Athlon
2400+ machine. The reviews i've read online say that it's an ok machine
with a loud fan and heating. My question is, how bad is the condition or
how bad are these machines?
Given a very limited budget, the deal sounds good but i just want some
feedback on my concerns

I have my 2175US for 1 week & have noticed excesive heating or fan noise.
With the $100 rebate & a free after rebate floppy it is a good buy. Mine
came with XP Pro.
