Hello

I have a Compaq Presario C300, since yesterday it doesn't start winXP,
the screen freeze with the windows xp logo screen. So I ran the disk
test from the BIOS utility, and got the #07 error code. what the h...
means!!??? do I have to change the hard disk?? there is no information
of error codes from the disk diagnostic in any compaq website.

I had a chat conversation with the compaq service and they told me:
error 07 means that the hard disk is not working properly. oh yeah??
really??? c'mon!!.

plz help! that baby has my thesis!!! (yes, I have a backup, but
still...there are a lot of information in that laptop!)

Relax: your drive is at least functional enough to try to boot
windows, there's a good chance you can recover your stuff without
spending $600 or so.
