- Copaq Presario 1675 choppy DVD Movies

I have the above mentioned laptop....it has 64 m of ram and an 8 m
video card i beleive. When I play DVD movies it is very choppy. Any
way to get it to smooth out....new video card, more memory? any
tricks? software?

Hi Ike,
I had a similar problem with a Compaq 1685, and the problem was the IDE interface, it was set to PIO instead of DMA. I removed
the IDE controller from the Device manager, and let windows re-install it. When it re-installed the device, it came in as DMA.
