The HD on my Inspiron is failing and I need to get a new one.
Additionally, I'd like to upgrade the amount of RAM (currently
256k). Is there any special kinds of HD or RAM that I need
to get for the laptop? Or can I get any kind?
Yes, I know it's a few years old but I'm fine with that. Plus,
I don't really have the money to upgrade.

I have found Crucial to be a very good place to purchase RAM.
www.crucial.com
Put make and model of computer and they tell you what the best RAM is for it
and mail it to you overnight.
