I have recently been handed down a DELL INSPIRON 7000 laptop.

pii 300
internal DVD/CD rom
Floppy
128 MEG RAM
With Win98SE

Im having a frustrating problem where it just wont read any DVD's i
put into the ROM. It recognises that the device is a DVD player in the
DEVICE manager and reads CD/CDRW's fine. But when i shove a DVD rom in
it then it trys to access, but fails to find anything.'DRIVE NOT
READY' to be more precise.

i had the same problem but with an ibm thinkpad it just needed the video car
drivers to b updated and my dvd player worked again just try doin a windows
update
