- dell latitude screen problem
- Posted by geepeetee on November 19th, 2003
Hi
I have just got a latitude cp with a non working backlight on the screen, is
there any way i can establish whether its the tube or the inverter before i
start buying replacement parts. Is there any way to test the tube or can i
check the output voltage from the inverter using a meter.
If i can establish which part is faulty (screen or inverter) i might stand
more chance of finding them seperately than a complete lid.
If anyone has any parts i might be intersted
cheers
Gary

Go and find a PC modding site (maybe ebay) and buy a cold-cathode tube
of the appropriate size.
Colour does not matter.
Should be quite cheap.
A meter may be problematical as all but the most expensive ones won't
measure it properly.
