- DVD driver for Acer Travelmate 433 LM

Recently I bought the Acer Travelmate 433 LM which supposedly has a
DVD-writer on board. But, software does not detect a writer, and if I look
at the driver installed I see: Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R6112.
I hope it's merely a matter of a wrong driver... But since I cannot get hold
of Acer by phone (they keep me on hold) or e-mail (none of the
e-mailaddresses on their site work), I don't know where to find the correct
driver. I even do not know what brand + type of DVD player is in my 433LM.
According to Windows XP there are no other drivers on any of the supported
system cd's... Surely this must be false? But if I look under drivers on
their system cd, I find only programmes, not drivers...
Can anyone help or have any suggestions?

Problem solved. Apparently the driver is hidden inside prog... Had to
install latest version, for the installed version on notebook did not
support current DVD drive...

Hi,
I bought the same notebook and i had the same problem, so i decided to
install Nero. Nero 6 found the dvd and i started a burn process.
Although it says that it burns the dvd-r at 2x it takes about an hour
to complete the whole process (i think that it is supposed to take
about 40 minutes for a 4.7GB dvd).
Any suggestions about that?
