- eBay laptops

I've bought several laptops lately on eBay for family and friends. Most
seem to be advertised as "corporate lease" castoffs. I was wondering how
you find the source of these presumably volume deals. Simply a matter of
geography and being close to the source? Any ideas?

They are typically purchased by resellers that then lease them out to
companies and then sell them when they are returned. Many dealers are also
offered refurbished and off-lease units directly from the manufacturers.
Not really accessible to the average consumer directly. You can check out
manufacturer websites, like Dell's, but I think the deals on eBay are
better.
