- Experiences with aftermarket ebay batteries: IGO.COM, Eagle Imports, etc.?

I've been considering purchasing a new laptop battery on ebay, and
everything seems to be an Eagle Imports aftermarket product. After
scouring usenet and the web for information on these batteries, I
can't find any real definitive answer.
A few posts say they're not quite as good as originals, which is fine
by me for half the price, but others say they're God-awful.
The volume of these things sold is too high for no one to have any
real experience with them. Can anyone reply with some anecdotes? I'd
be interested in side-by-side comparisons, problems, success stories,
etc.

Follow the thread. It clearly states that Bruce recommends Eagle Imports for
600E batts.

since I still have no idea whether these batteries are new or
