FS: Custom Build-to -Order Notebooks at great price
Posted by Don West on April 1st, 2004

Finally, a brand name quality customizable build-to-order laptop
solution at a no name price! Able Computer Systems, a national value
added wholesaler established 1994, is proud to offer 9 customizable
notebook models directly from a global ISO 9001 certified Tier 1
Original Equipment Manufacturer. These customizable models actually
use the EXACT SAME chassis and components as several of the major
"name brand" units you find on retail shelves.

Cut out the middlemen. Why pay extra for a nametag and a retailer's
overhead? You can get the exact same thing for much less? For
example, we just beat Dell on a qty 20 deal by over $200/unit!! Plus
in most states, your purchase from us will be sales tax-free. How
much more does that 6-8% save you?

Through Able Computers you get exactly the configuration that best
fits your needs. Choose your CPU, display, Ram, OS, Hard drive,
optical drives, etc. Pay only for what you want, not what retail
centers force on you.

Also, your Able Custom Notebook is backed by up to 3 years Parts and
Labor warranty, with free lifetime telephone support. In the event of
malfunction we will provide a UPS call tag for next day pick-up from
your location. You will be up and running again in less than 7 days!
Compare that to the empty service promises of the over priced "name
brand" models.

To view sample configurations visit http:\\www.ablecomp.com & click
"view notebooks." For custom pricing options please call me.

I'm okay with the prices. I'm unclear on 2 things: why the web
pages for these says copyright 2001 and we're just now hearing of them
and why the lightweight model standard battery gives such poor battery
life compared to other laptops with similar spec. I also wouldn't mind
some all-around shots of each model to see where the various ports are
located, if they've got covers, etc. Also on the sub I saw nothing
about the audio chipset, and I wouldn't mind knowing the pc card
controller version as well as who wrote the BIOS.
