Is anyone familiar enough with this machine to comment on it. It is
aviailable on Ebay current bid is about $110. canadian

Has no cd drive.
Anyone know whether a cd/dvd drive could be obtained reasonably.
Am only looking for an entry level unit so price seems good.

This is likely a Solo 9100 (not the XL which was P2 266 MMX, AIRC).
Originally a Win95 computer with a lot of proprietary drivers. You
might be able to get the basic driver set from Gateway's support site.
If it has an on-board DVD decoder, that is usually missing from the US
site; Gateway UK has some drivers the US site is missing. In any event,
eBay might be a source for the drive. Mundo is a Gateway replacement
parts specialist www.mundocorp.com .
