- Help! Black screen when changing settings on screen

I just updated my video driver on laptop and I get a black screen when I
goto change the settings of the screen. The laptop is an Acer Ferrari 3200,
ATI Radeon mobile 9700 128mb. Updated to Catalyst 5.13 mobile. Anyone else
have this problem? Anyone know a solution? Tia.

maybe your changing to a resolution that your display cannot do?

It goes black setting it to lesser resolutions as well. Sadly ATI refers
notebook owners to the manufacturer such as Acer in my case. I goto their
website and the latest driver they have is from 10/04. I may just re-install
the old omega drivers if I cant figure this out. Thanks everyone for trying
