- How reliable are Acers (not speaking about Ferrari)?

Hi,
I am thinking going for an Acer Travelmate, either the 4652 or the 4502. I
would be interesting in getting feedback from users of those, especially the
bad stories. How good is their support in case of failure?
Thanks

acer support varies greatly as to where in the world you are located. I
have bought two Acer notebooks over the past 4 years, neither has given me
a hint of a problem. I live in Toronto Canada and they claim a 48-hour
dropoff-to-pickup service that I have yet to put to the test, but I have
heard some horror stories about UK Acer support?

I have been using an Acer C110TCi tablet for over a year now and have had no
problems with it. I use it in tablet mode at least weekly. My department has
57 of them and we have sent about nine is for warranty repairs during that last
two years. Most were for user created problems.

Travelmate 290E, no hardware problems at all. Other than self inflicted
software foul-ups -read careless stupidity- I've had an enjoyable time with
the unit. It's coming up to a year old, sees daily use on AC and frequently
travels to various locations in the house with a wireless card on battery
power. I've also had it on the road a few times for the convenience of
downloading my digital camera and reviewing photos.
I bought it with an extended warranty package but have never had to use it.
The one time I e-mailed a question to Acer Support I had an answer within 24
hours.
