Bought a year old HP Pav dv 4000 from a friend who sold it to me at a
bargain because she said the DVD/CD-Rom drive wouldn't work. I peered
around and noticed that the Device Manager doesn't even see the drive.
It is as if the thing is not on the computer at all. I followed the
troubleshoot from HP, deleting the upper and lower filters in some
registry. Still nothing. The drive is not seen. Any thoughts?
