- IBM T22 LCD Backlight Problem
- Posted by Mike Chang on October 9th, 2003
Hi All,
My trusty T22's screen has been acting up for some time. It was an
intermittent problem. The screen was very faint and barely readable.
I researched this newsgroup and determined it was a bad inverter. So
I replaced the inverter (2-hour job because I followed HMM
step-by-step). The screen came back alive for two days. Then same
problem happened again this morning.
What else could be the cause? It usually happended after I open the
lid. If I left the LCD lid as it was, backlight was always on.
My T22 warranty has expired, so I don't want to send it to IBM for
repair.
TIA,
Mike

1. You may have gotten a bad inverter
2. Check the suspend switch under the battery light. If it hangs, it
will cause the screen to blank
