I had been having trouble with the connection between the AC adaptor and
my 760XL. It seemed to be the plug that was the problem, but I couldn't
get one, so I bought a replacement adaptor. It was OK for a while, but
now it won't charge again, so I can't use it. I have just finished
transferring my files to a newer model of Thinkpad, but I would like to
be able to use this computer too, as there is nothing else wrong with it.
I now suspect that the adaptor socket on the back of the machine needs
replacing, but I doubt if it's possible to get one? It would seem like a
good idea to replace both the plug and socket with something more common.
However, besides + and - there are two other terminals marked s and d. I
don't know what these do (remote sensing?). Does anyone have any
suggestions?
Thanks, Alun
PS: I also have no idea how to remove the power socket.
