IBM Thinkpad and '@' key
Posted by Fabio on July 23rd, 2003

Hi,

I'm tring to reinstall a Windows 2000 OS in a laptop IBM Thinkpad
model A21e. I downloaded the drivers from IBM web site an my
installation seem to work well, all devices was detected and all
needed driver are installed correctly. I have only one problem, I
don't know how to show some "special" characters placed in some
multifunction keys of the leptop keyboard. For example the character
'@' is in the same key of 'Q' character and I don't know how to show
it. I tried all the possible combination of keys (Ctrl+Alt+Q,
Alt+shift+Q,....) but nothing was appened. Anyone who have another
Thinkpad model can tell me how to remap the keyboard to use also these
special keys?? I need another driver or software from IBM web site???
Thank you for the help
Fabio

Forget my question, finally a resolved my problem, I simply set the
keyboard layout as 142 keys format and now all the normal and special
keys work well.
Thank you and excuse me
Fabio
