- internet sort of times out
- Posted by marlinspike on August 3rd, 2003
Hello,
If I leave my laptop for a bit while it's downloading something (not
if I'm downloading something in the Windows update kinda thing, but just a
regular download). After a while, the internet connection stays connected
but stops working. None of my other computers do this. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Richard

Use a different NIC. Or train your other computers to do it too.

From The Free On-line Dictionary of Computing (07Oct99) [foldoc]:
NIC
1. <networking> {Network Information Center}.
2. <hardware> {Network Interface Card}.
