- Laptop doesn't detect my external monitor!

I've tried everything: new drivers, bios flash, but my laptop just doen't
find my external monitor anymore. Any suggestions?

On most laptops one must press one of the
function keys to switch/enable from the
built-in display to an external monitor.
Unfortunately, there is no standard as
to which Fn key provides this function
-- I've seen this anywhere from F3 to
F7 -- so you have to look this up in
your user manual.

Did it USED to detect your external monitor?
I go into Control Panel -> Display to adjust that capability.
