How hard is it to attach a set of external speakers to a laptop? Here's
the one I'm looking at:

With those available jacks, would it be possible to attach a 2.1/4.1/5.1
speaker set?

Joel,
It's easy, but you will only get stereo sound out of that notebook (most
notebooks in fact), not 5.1. For analog speakers, connect to the headphone
jack. For digital, connect to S/PDIF.
