Laptop LCD Problem
Posted by Primster on December 11th, 2003

Hello,

I have a Dell Latitude with a problem.

Here are the symptoms:

A few weeks ago I could open the lid about 3-4" and could see Windows
coming up. If I opened the screen to a normal position it would beep
once then turn white. The hard drive works normaly and there seems to
be no other problems.

I bought a used LCD cable off of Ebay and installed it. This didn't
seem to solve the problem. The screen is now just all white and no
Windows logo?? Do you think that the LCD cable is not connected at all
points? or could it be another part like the invertor?

I am new to laptop repairs, and any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks!

It cannot be the inverter.
This supplies power to the backlight.
If the inverter is not working, the screen will be black.

Is it possible you have not installed the cable correctly?
