- Laptop is not detecting memory card
- Posted by vishalmanohar@gmail.com on June 25th, 2006
I have a Compaq M2000 laptop with a 6 in 1 Multi Media card reader. I
inserted a memory card from my mobile phone into the reader and the
laptop is not detecting the card. Also now, I do not have any idea how
to remove it from the slot. If anyone has any ideas, please do reply.

If its an SD card, just push it in further and it should pop out. CF card
slots have an ejection button if they insert flush. If they stick out, just
pull.

You may have inserted it wrong, or inserted a type of card that it
doesn't take.
There are 3 ways to remove the card:
-Some of these are "push to insert, push to release", so try that.
-Try grasping it with your fingers (or tweezers if necessary) and
pulling (don't use enough force to break anything).
-There may be an eject button.
However, if you inserted a card type that is not accepted and that was
never intended to be inserted, you may have a real problem getting it out.
